Hagerstown,
MD -
The Hagerstown Suns, Single-A
affiliate of the Washington Nationals,
are pleased to announce that WJEJ
1240-AM will serve as the team's flagship radio station for
the 2012
season. WJEJ will
air all home and road
games live on 1240-AM and www.wjejradio.com,
with the exception of weekday games beginning prior to 12:00 p.m. The agreement marks the
fourth consecutive
year that Suns game broadcasts will be carried on WJEJ.
"We
are pleased to be returning to
WJEJ 1240-AM for our 2012 game broadcasts as well as the Suns Farm
Report on
Thursday mornings," said Suns General Manager Bill
Farley.
WJEJ
live game broadcasts will begin
with a pre-game show approximately fifteen minutes prior to the
scheduled game
time. The "Suns
Farm Report" will return
for a second season, hosting a Suns special guest every Thursday
morning at
8:30 a.m. during the season as a part of WJEJ's normal programming.
"WJEJ
is
proud to continue the tradition of providing the Cumberland Valley with
quality
entertainment, great music and local sports," said Phil Miller
from the
Hagerstown Broadcasting Company. "WJEJ
looks forward again to being the flagship radio station of the
Hagerstown Suns
for the 2012 season."
As
announced by the Suns in
November, team Media Relations Director Matt
Leite
will serve as the lead play-by-play announcer throughout the season.
"The
anticipation of working with
the great staff at WJEJ to bring the Hagerstown Suns season into the
homes,
cars, computers and mobile devices of this great baseball community has
been
mounting for me throughout the winter," said Leite. "April fifth can't
come soon enough."
