Zunino homers, drives in five runs

Mike Zunino hit his second homer of the season, doubled, walked and drive in five runs Saturday to power Tacoma to an 8-6 win over Fresno. In three games, the Mariners' No. 3 prospect is hitting .417 and leads the Pacific Coast League with eight RBIs.

Endy Chavez also went 2-for-5 out of the leadoff spot for the Rainiers, scoring twice and picking up an RBI.

Roger Kieschnick fell a triple shy of the cycle for the Grizzlies, going 4-for-5 with three RBIs, and Kensuke Tanaka contributed three hits and three runs scored.

Brewers No. 4 prospect Johnny Hellweg notched his first Triple-A win for Nashville, leading the Sounds to a 6-0 whitewash of the New Orleans Zephyrs.

Hellweg allowed two hits and a walk while striking out three over five innings in. Scooter Gennett, Milwaukee's No. 7 prospect, went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored out of the leadoff spot for Nashville.

Cole Garner also homered and doubled for the Sounds, while Bryan Petersen paced New Orleans with two hits, including a double.

Gwinnett took the first game of a doubleheader from Charlotte, 6-4, thanks to a pair of homers from Ernesto Mejia. The first baseman finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs.

Mejia added a double and scored a run in the nightcap as the G-Braves completed the sweep with a 2-1 victory. Reliever David Carpenter earned the win in the second game, scattering four hits and a walk with five strikeouts over 3 2/3 innings.

Steve Tolleson led the Knights in the opener, going 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base, while Seth Loman accounted for the offense in the nightcap with his first homer of the season.

In the 11th inning, Cesar Hernandez provided his fourth hit of the game, a walk-off single that plated Michael Martinez and gave Lehigh Valley a 5-4 win over Syracuse.

Hernandez went 4-for-6 out of the leadoff spot for the IronPigs, adding a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Leandro Castro chipped in three hits, including a double, and scored twice.

Jeff Kobernus carried the Chiefs' offense by going 3-for-4 with homer and three RBIs.
