Miracle Fall 2-0 to Juipter

JUPITER, Fla. (June 20, 2017) - The Jupiter Hammerheads (33-34) grabbed their eighth straight win with a 2-0 victory over the Fort Myers Miracle (32-35) on Tuesday night.
LHP Anthony McIver made his first professional start and did not allow a run on just two hits with four strikeouts over 3.2 innings. RHP Tom Hackimer followed McIver with 2.1 scoreless frames of his own. On the other side, LHP Scott Squier dealt 6.2 innings without allowing a run on three hits.
In the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded and one out against RHP David Fischer (L, 3-6), Kyle Barrett ripped a single up the middle to plate the game's first run.
Fort Myers had their opportunity to counter in the top of the eighth. After a Daniel Kihle single, Tanner English smashed a ball to the left field corner that would have scored Kihle, but the ball hopped over the fence for a ground rule double, keeping Kihle at third. With the tying run at third and go-ahead run at second, RHP Felipe Gonzalez struck out Max Murphy. After issuing a walk to Alex Perez to load the bases, Gonzalez fanned Zander Wiel to end the threat.
Jupiter added an insurance run in the eighth on a Dustin Geiger RBI-single. While RHP Tyler Kinley (W, 1-0) earned the win, LHP Jeff Kinley (Sv, 6) used a 1-2-3 ninth inning to garner the save.
The final game of the first half begins at 6:30 PM ET on Wednesday night as RHP Cody Stashak looks to build off his previous start.
