The Miracle regret to inform our fans that Friday's post game FIREWORKS show has been postponed.
In a written statement from James Tanner, Fire Marshal for South Trail Fire Protection & Rescue Service District, he states "In conjunction with the Governor Ordered State of Emergency, Executive Order 17-120 and the Lee County Emergency Resolution No. 17-05-15 Declaring State of Local Emergency (Burn Ban), The South Trail Fire Protection and Rescue Service District in consideration of the current extreme fire behavior conditions and in the interest of public safety as well as the protection of the Six Mile Cypress Slough, shall not approve the display of fireworks at Hammond Stadium. We will continue to work with the Fort Myers Miracle and evaluate the situation daily until conditions will safely allow such display."
"Above anything else, the Miracle are committed to community safety and stand behind the decision made by South Trail Fire Protection and Rescue Service District, Lee County and the Governor of Florida," said Miracle Executive Vice President and COO Ben Hemmen. "We sympathize with families that have lost so much due to the fires that have recently taken place in Southwest Florida. While this FIREWORKS show is postponed, fans that attend Friday's game will be able to exchange those tickets for a ticket to our Friday, July 7 FIREWORKS game."
Besides the anticipated FIREWORKS, Friday is Lehigh Night presented by the Lehigh Rotary Club. Residents of Lehigh Acres along with all Miracle fans will enjoy watching some 1970's inspired baseball as the team will be wearing their celebratory "Faux-back" caps for every Friday home game.
