Poppen Named FSL Pitcher of the Week for July 10-16

FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 17, 2017) - The Florida State League has named Fort Myers Miracle, Advanced-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, RHP Sean Poppen the FSL Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 10-16.

Poppen won both of his starts this past week, tossing eight scoreless on Monday against the Palm Beach Cardinals. Saturday night he hurled 6.1 innings of one-run ball against St. Lucie. The righty out of Harvard struck out nine with two walks over his two starts.

He is the second Miracle pitcher to earn the honor this season after RHP Tom Hackimer earned the honors a week ago. Two other Miracle position players have earned Player of the Week honors, Max Murphy (4/24-30) and Chris Paul (5/15-21).
