Frisco Slugs Missions in 12-4 Loss

July 29, 2014

FRISCO-The Missions division road woes continued as they dropped their third straight in the series Sunday night in front of 5,726 at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.

Bryce Morrow entered the game having allowed 10 total runs over his first eight starts with the Missions but he lasted only three innings, allowing six runs, including a pair of homers.

Frisco slugged three total homeruns, matching the most allowed by the Missions. Joey Gallo hit his minor league-leading 36th and his fifth in the last six games.

The only highlights for San Antonio were Hunter Renfroe's three-run homer in the opening inning and a pair of hits for Cory Spangenberg, which extended his team-high hitting streak to 13 games.

Spangenberg became the first Mission to collect 40 hits in a calendar month since May, 2009, when both Mike Baxter and Craig Cooper turned the trick.

Notebook: San Antonio has lost 24 of 33 road games within division play. They clinched a losing July (10-15) and trail Midland by five games in the South Division race.
