Camargo, Kent claim weekly honors

PEARL, MS --  Infielder Johan Camargo and LHP Steve Kent have been named Mississippi Farm Bureau Player and Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, June 26.

 
Camargo, 22, posted a .467 batting average (7-for-15) in four games during the week following the all-star break. The Panamanian had two doubles, a triple and four RBI. On the season, Camargo is hitting .256. He's posted a .301 average in 20 games during the month of June. His best numbers are against lefties where he's currently hitting .298 compared to .246 against right-handers. Camargo was signed by the Braves as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2010.
 
Kent, 27, appeared in two of the four games this week following the all-star break. He worked 3.2 scoreless innings and surrendered just two hits while fanning four batters. In 21 relief appearances with the Double-A Braves this season, Kent is 0-1 with one save and a 4.45 ERA. He's struck out 33 batters in 30.1 innings of work. Right-handers are hitting .240 against the southpaw. The Australian was signed by the Braves as a minor league free agent on January 20, 2016.
