Homestand Highlights: M-Braves host in-state rival Biloxi Shuckers this week

PEARL, MS - The first place Mississippi Braves will welcome their in-state rival Biloxi Shuckers to Trustmark Park this week, Tuesday-Sunday. The homestand features Bark in the Park, First Responders Day, Thirsty Thursday, KLLM Big Rig Reveal, MS State Flag Cap Giveaway, Fireworks, and Autism Awareness Day with Jersey Auction.

  • Bark in the Park: The M-Braves host Bark in the Park, presented by Hollywood Feed! Dogs are welcome to take in the M-Braves game (humans must pay, dogs get in free). Waiver - All dogs are required to have a waiver signed by their owners before entering.
  • Craft Beer Specials: Enjoy Craft Beer Specials from local breweries each Tuesday in the Farm Bureau Grill & Outdoor Patio.

  • Kids Run The Bases: Kids, 14-and-under will have the opportunity to run the bases after every Friday and Sunday home game at Trustmark Park, presented by Game on Wheels.
  • Trustmark's $10,000 Dash For Cash: After each Friday home game, fans can register for the chance to snag cold hard cash. Then, ten lucky fans will have 1:00 to snag as much of the $10K spread out all over the outfield.

  • Autism Awareness Day: Join us for a special day at Trustmark Park on Sunday, July 25 as we wear special jerseys to auction off, raising awareness, and funds for TEAAM!
  • Sunday Family Funday: Enjoy matinee baseball every Sunday at Trustmark Park and take advantage of fun activities for the entire family. Kids 14-and-under will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game, presented by Game on Wheels.

Did You Know? The M-Braves and Shuckers have played each other 122 times since 2015 with the Shuckers leading the all-time series 63-59. This will be the first series in which the Braves have the best record in the league, and the Shuckers have the worst.

Brewers Top-30 Prospects (MLB.com) for the Shuckers: OF Garrett Mitchell (1), INF Brice Turang (2), OF Tristen Lutz (12), and RHP Zack Brown (18),

  • Mitchell was promoted to Biloxi on July 6 from High-A, and has hit .220 in his first 10 games in Double-A Mitchell was the 20th overall selection in the 2020 draft out of UCLA, signing for $3.242 million.
  • Turang was the 21st overall selection by the Brewers out of Santiago High School in California. The Brewers signed him for $3.41 million, convincing him to not fulfill his commitment to LSU. The shortstop has hit .275 for the Shuckers this season with three home runs and 31 RBI.

  • Elder, Atlanta's fifth-round selection in 2020 is coming off back-to-back 7.0 inning starts, allowing just two runs on six hits over 14.2 innings, including the first seven of the combined no-hitter on July 17 vs. Pensacola.
  • Strider, Atlanta's fourth-round selection in 2020 has 86 strikeouts in his first 49.1 innings as a professional pitcher, 15.9 SO/9 IP. He struck out six over 5.0 innings in his last start on Saturday at the Smokies.
