The Missoula Osprey and Daktronics, the world leader in audiovisual systems, have announced their installation of a new state of the art 15 HD LED Videoboard at Ogren Park Allegiance Field. At 15 HD, the new videoboard brings "Major League" quality video to the Osprey games and other events. The new Osprey video board is of the same quality as those in Mercedes-Benz Stadium (home of the Atlanta Falcons and the largest videoboard in the world), Chase Field (home of the Arizona Diamondbacks), Oakland-Alameda Coliseum (home of the Oakland A's), Minute Maid Park (home of the Houston Astros), and home stadiums for the Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, and Minnesota Vikings, among others.
Not only is the quality of the Videoboard a major improvement but it is significantly larger than its predecessor. The Osprey's previous Videoboard screen was 120 square feet. The new board will be have 950 square feet of video capabilities. The Osprey believe that it is the largest 15 HD LED Videoboard per capita in the country. However, the entire board will remain the same square footage as the previous one as all the static ads have been eliminated to allow the video to encompass the entire footprint.
"This Videoboard is 'big league'," exclaimed Osprey Vice President Matt Ellis! "The quality, the size, the technology, and the possible uses put us on par with all the Major League facilities in the country. This is a major improvement for the facility and the community. We look forward to its positive impact on the fan experience at Osprey games, but also its possible uses for the community at large. For example, a free movie night series in September and October is already planned for the community to enjoy, among other great ideas we are working on. We thank Daktronics for helping us complete this vision and their work to install it."
The Videoboard will allow the Osprey to provide stadium attendees a greater ballpark experience at all events. During Osprey games, instant replays, fan cams, player game and season stats, and full video effects will enhance the game experience. The Osprey promotional staff will now be able to provide great new features they haven't been able to do in the past.
"This huge visual upgrade brings a major impact to the stadium for players and fans of the Osprey," said Brady Jacobsen, Daktronics regional manager. "It's been great working with everyone involved in this project. The new display looks amazing and will entertain fans for years to come."
The Osprey and SWX have worked with Daktronics throughout the install of the board in Missoula to make sure the Videoboard and new Osprey Regional Television Broadcasts of all home games benefit from each other to improve in park and television viewing experiences. The ability to show highlights and instant replays in the stadium is just one example of this benefit.
• The display features a 15HD pixel layout and measures approximately 26.5 feet high by 36 feet wide to engage and entertain fans during Osprey games and other special events. It features industry-leading environmental protection and wide-angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the ballpark.
• To improve the fan experience, the display is capable of variable content zoning. This allows it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics, animations and sponsorship messages.
• Daktronics included its powerful Show Control System with this installation. This industry-leading system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
