Saturday, the Missoula PaddleHeads announced the free agent signing of utility man, Cameron Thompson. The PaddleHeads’ Baseball Operations team continues to show that – although they sit comfortably atop the Pioneer League North – there is no time to stop improving.

Cameron Thompson | INF | 5-11, 190lb

Native of Pasadena, Texas, Thompson played collegiate baseball for the Kansas State Wildcats. Debuting in 2017, Cameron made a statement, collecting Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America, All-Big 12 Freshman Team, and All-Big 12 Second Team honors. Excelling on the diamond, as well as the classroom, Thompson tallied three All-Big 12 Academic honors, and was tabbed to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll on five separate occasions during his stay at K-State. In 5 seasons of ball (Red-Shirt eligibility due to COVID-19 shortened season), Cameron posted a .287 batting average, 149 RBI, 52 stolen bases, and 23 homeruns (14 of which came during his ’21 Senior campaign.

“Cam will be a solid addition to what we feel is already a quality mix in our clubhouse.” said PaddleHeads’ Manager Michael Schlact. “We think he's going to be an asset in the field, and with his bat, he’ll fit right into our championship vision, and winning culture. We’ve got our eyes on the title, and we’ll keep working to get there."
