JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (August 25, 2019) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, split a doubleheader Sunday against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, winning game one 2-1 and dropping game two 9-4 at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.
GAME ONE:
Despite being out-hit 7-4, the BayBears came back to defeat the Jumbo Shrimp 2-1. After being held hitless through the first four innings, Mobile tallied two runs on two hits against
GAME TWO:
The BayBears (49-81 overall, 22-40 second half) put together a late rally with four runs in the final three innings but came up short in a five-run loss.
Brandon Sanger home run cut Jacksonville's lead to 8-3 in the fifth inning. The BayBears loaded the bases in the fifth, sixth, and seventh but only mustered one run. Mobile went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
The Jumbo Shrimp (65-68, 36-27) got off to hot start by scoring four runs against
