Nuts Erase Three-Run Deficit in 5-4 Win
Modesto, CA. - The Modesto Nuts struck for two runs in the bottom of the ninth for a 5-4 walk-off win against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes on Tuesday night at John Thurman Field.
With the Nuts (28-30) down by a run in the ninth, Correlle Prime reached on an error to start the frame. Ashley Graeter walked and Dillon Thomas replaced him as a pinch runner. Wilson Soriano tied the game off Dan Tillman (L, 0-3) with a RBI single that sent Thomas to third. Raimel Tapia whacked a deep sac fly to center that left no doubt about its ability to score Thomas.
