The win gives the Nuts (9-14) their first three-game winning streak of the year and their first series victory of the season.
Down by a pair in the seventh, Bryson Brigman finally put the Nuts on the board for the first time with a two-run triple. Joe Rizzo followed and doubled Brigman home to give the Nuts their first lead of the game.
In the top of the eighth, the Giants (13-10) took the lead back. Michael Koval walked the first two hitters of the inning. In the bottom of the eighth, Rodolfo Martinez (L, 2-1) walked two of the first three hitters he faced. After a wild pitch moved them into scoring position, Jorge Solano drove in both runners with a two-run single up the middle. They were the first professional RBI for Solano.
The Nuts added on in the inning when Joe Rizzo laid down a suicide squeeze to score Solano. Logan Taylor smashed a two-run double off the left-field wall. Nick Zammarelli added a sac fly.
Seth Elledge (W, 2-0) got the final out of the eighth inning and retired the side in order in the ninth. The righty retired all five batters he faced.
