Liberato and Jimenez Each Drive In Three

San Jose, CA. - Darren McCaughan and Reggie McClain teamed up to help the Modesto Nuts defeat the San Jose Giants 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at Municipal Stadium.
Darren McCaughan worked the first three innings for the Nuts (62-77; 32-37). He surrendered a leadoff single. After that, McCaughan retired the final nine he faced in order to work three scoreless frames in his 2018 season finale.
Reggie McClain (W, 6-11) followed out of the bullpen and finished the game off with six shutout frames, McClain allowed just three singles with four strikeouts and one walk.
The Nuts offense took care of business against Giants (58-81; 24-45) starter Domenic Mazza (L, 3-6). Evan White put the Nuts on the board first with a RBI single in the first. White finished the day going 3x5 with two runs and a RBI.
In the third, Anthony Jimenez drove in the first of his three RBI when he beat out an infield single. Jimenez added a two-run single in the fifth as part of a three-hit afternoon.
Luis Liberato turned the game into a blow out in the sixth when he connected on a three-run homer.
Mazza went six innings and allowed seven runs on eleven hits.
