PENSACOLA, Flo. – After a rainout on Friday, the Biscuits (17-23) were swept in a doubleheader by the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (25-16), dropping game one, 4-2, and game two, 2-0, on Saturday night at Blue Wahoos Stadium.

Tommy Romero started game one of the doubleheader for the Biscuits, and matched his counterpart, Pensacola starter Edward Cabrera, with a scoreless first. In the top of the second, Biscuits right fielder Ruben Cardenas crushed his first Double-A home run over the left field wall and into Pensacola Bay to give Montgomery a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the second, Romero walked Lazaro Alonso to begin the inning, and then Riley Mahan hit a wind-assisted two-run homer to left to give Pensacola their first lead of the game at 2-1. Romero settled down, however, and struck out the side in the third.

Cabrera ended up going 4.1 scoreless innings before handing the reins to Zack Leban, who finished off the fifth without any issues. In the sixth, however, Ford Proctor connected off Leban for a solo homer to left that tied that game at two.

Brian Shaffer, who came on for Romero in the fifth, loaded the bases with nobody out in the sixth, but wiggled out of the jam. Jhon Nunez then doubled to begin the bottom of the seventh, before Peyton Burdick hit a walk-off two-run homer to left to win the game for Pensacola, 4-2.

Joel Peguero (0-5) opened game two of the twin-bill for the Biscuits, and worked a one-two-three first, striking out a pair, after the Biscuits went three-and-out against Wahoos starter, Jake Eder (2-2). In the second, a couple of errors and a Peguero walk loaded the bases for Pensacola, who then got a two-run single from Bubba Hollins to make it 2-0, Wahoos.

Eder kept the Biscuits off-balance all night, throwing six scoreless innings and striking out seven while walking three and allowing just three singles. Josh Roberson came on in the seventh and closed it out for the save.

The Biscuits will try to rebound in the series finale against the Blue Wahoos on Sunday when LHP Faustino Carrera (2-2) faces RHP Jeff Lindgren (2-3) for the second time this week at 4:00 PM CT.

After Pensacola, the Biscuits will continue their 12-game road trip with six away at Biloxi, before returning to Riverwalk Stadium for a six-game series against the Mississippi Braves on a Golden Biscuits Tuesday on June 29. The rest of the series will include Left Handers Day & Military Wednesday presented by WOW! on June 30; A Summer Tank Top Giveaway by ALFA Insurance on Thursday, July 1; A Sleeve Cooler Giveaway presented by 95.1 The Fox on Friday, July 2; Patriotic Night with MAX Fireworks on Saturday, July 3; And an Independence Day Celebration with MAX Fireworks on Sunday, July 4.
