June 12, 2019

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Kenny Rosenberg (6-1) fired a season-high eight innings of one-run ball and the Biscuits (40-25) got plenty of offense in their 7-1 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts (38-26) in Wednesday night's series opener at Riverwalk Stadium. The Biscuits need just one more win over their final five games before the All-Star break to clinch their first-ever First Half Championship, and punch their ticket to the postseason for a team-record fifth-consecutive season.
Rosenberg, the 23-year-old All-Star, retired the first eight batters he saw, and got a two-run home run from Biscuits second baseman Tristan Gray off Lookouts starter Scott Moss (4-3) in the second to put the Butter and Blue ahead, 2-0, early.
In the fourth, the Biscuits doubled their lead thanks to an RBI-double into the right-center field alley by Brett Sullivan, and then a double steal by Lucius Fox and Sullivan that made it a 4-0 game. Fox would punch an RBI-triple into the same gap in the sixth, and a Robbie Tenerowicz RBI-single in the same inning made it 6-0 Biscuits.
Rosenberg was spinning a shutout heading into the seventh, when Jose Siri launched his fourth home run of the season to left, and finally got the Lookouts on the board. But a Kevin Padlo RBI-double off the wall in left handed Montgomery their final run in the bottom of the seventh. Tyler Zombro then pitched a scoreless ninth of relief to seal the victory.
The Biscuits will try to clinch that fifth-straight playoff berth on Thursday night when Riley O'Brien (2-4) clashes with Tejay Antone (7-3) at 6:35 PM CT when it will be Game Show Night and a T-Shirt Giveaway at Riverwalk Stadium.
The rest of the series will feature Capital City Night on Friday, June 14; Montgomery Rebels Throwback Night featuring a Jersey Auction on Saturday, June 15 (a doubleheader); and A Father's Day Tie Giveaway on Sunday, June 16.
