ICYMI: Last night's series opener between the Mudcats and Lynchburg Hillcats was postponed due to rain at Five County Stadium. It will be made up at a later, yet to be determined date.

ABOUT THE LAST ONE: Last night's postponement was Carolina's second already this season. The Mudcats now have three doubleheaders on their schedule, including today's twin bill versus Lynchburg. The Mudcats were 2nd in MiLB and led the Carolina League with 14 doubleheaders last season. They finished at 10-18 in twin bills last season. Additionally, they were swept six times, split six and swept two doubleheader in 2016. The Mudcats were 6-8 in doubleheaders in 2015, 6-8 in 2014, 7-10 in 2013 and 5-9 in 2012.

STARTING OFF: Carolina's opening night starter Corbin Burnes gets the start tonight in game one of today's doubleheader versus the Lynchburg Hillcats. Burnes is out to a fantastic start this year having worked through 11.0 innings with just one earned run allowed over two outings this season. In his two starts, Burnes is 0-0 with a 0.82 ERA and has walked two while striking out nine... Left-hander Kodi Medeiros has the game two start in today's twin bill for the Mudcats. Medeiros is currently 0-2 with a 3.38 ERA over two games and one start (8.0 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 2 HB, 1 BB, 4 SO) this season for the Mudcats.

THE STAFF: Overall the Carolina pitching staff is 2nd in the league in ERA at 2.93 so far this season... Mudcats starters Corbin Burnes, Kodi Medeiros, Cody Ponce, Marcos Diplan, Jordan Yamamoto, Eric Hanhold, Freddy Peralta and Conor Harber have combined to go 3-2 with a 2.17 ERA over the first 10 games of the new season. They have also combined to hold opponents to a .231 average against and have combined to record 43 strikeouts against nine walks over 54.0 innings pitched this season... The Carolina bullpen is currently 3-1 with three saves and a 4.63 ERA (35.0 IP, 17 BB, 43 SO).

WHERE THEY RANK: The Mudcats currently lead the Carolina League in most stolen bases (21) and most double plays turned (15)... Jake Gatewood is currently 6th in the Carolina League in batting average (.361), 3rd in on-base percentage (.477) and tied for 2nd in most walks (8)... Luis Aviles leads the CL in stolen bases (7), 5th in on-base perecentage (.455) and tied for 2nd in the league in walks (8)... Troy Stokes Jr. is currently 4rd in the league in stolen bases (5).

WALK TO RUN: The Mudcats have walked a league high 46 times through 10 games this season. Of the 46 walks, 15 have eventually turned directly into runs (33%).

YOUNG SQUAD: At an average age of 22.0 years, the current Mudcats roster is the youngest in the Carolina League (as of 4/16). The Winston-Salem at an average age of 23.3 are the oldest team in the league. The rest of the CL: Buies Creek: 22.3, Wilmington: 22.3, Lynchburg: 22.6, Frederick: 22.7, Myrtle Beach: 22.8, Salem: 22.9, Down East: 23.1 and Potomac: 23.3.

HOME FOR APRIL: The Mudcats continue a 13 game home stand with doubleheader versus the Lynchburg Hillcats today at Five County Stadium. Carolina is currently 2-2 in their longest home stand of the season. The stretch of 13 straight home games will be played over 16 days as the Mudcats have off days on 4/19 and 4/24 before playing their next road game on 4/28 in Frederick.

PROSPECTS GALORE: The Mudcats currently have 10 players ranked on MLB.com's list of top 30 Brewers prospects; four of which ranking in the Brewers top 10. The plethora of top rated Brewers prospects currently with Carolina include outfielder Corey Ray, infielder Isan Diaz, outfielder Trent Clark and third baseman Lucas Erceg. Ray is currently ranked as the second best prospect in the Brewers system by MLB.com, followed by Diaz (5), Clark (6) and Erceg (7). Each of which are also ranked in the top 10 among Brewers prospects according to both Baseball America and Baseball Prospectus. Also ranking among MLB.com's top 30 Brewers prospects are pitchers Marcos Diplan (11), Cody Ponce (15), Kodi Medeiros (18), Freddy Peralta (19), Corbin Burnes (20) and infielder Jake Gatewood (25).

FIRST TIME: The Mudcats are currently in year one of a two-year player development agreement with the Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee's previous Class-A Advanced team was the Florida State League's Brevard County Manatees (FSL, 2005-2016). The 2017 season marks the first year that Milwaukee has had a MiLB affiliate in the Carolina League. Milwaukee's previous Class-A Advanced/Class A clubs: Manatees (FSL, 2005-2016), High Desert Mavericks (CAL, 2001-2004), Mudville Nine (CAL, 2000), Stockton Ports (CAL, 1979-1999), Burlington Bees (MID, 1975-1978), Danville Warriors (MID, 1971-1974), Clinton Pilots (1969-1970).
