ICYMI: Newly promoted starter Zack Brown matched a career high with eight strikeouts and allowed just one run over six quality innings while leading the Mudcats to a losing streak snapping 4-1 road win against the Pelicans in Myrtle Beach on Friday night. Brown (1-0, 1.50) allowed a solo home run to P.J. Higgins in the first, but went on to strikeout the side in the second and allowed just the one run over six innings in his victorious Carolina League debut.
ABOUT THE LAST ONE:Corey Ray went 3-for-4 in last night's victory and has now totaled a team high six (6) three-hit games this season. Ray leads active Mudcats players with 24 multi-hit games this season. Jake Gatewood had 25 multi-hit games during his run with the Mudcats and leads the club in multi-hit games overall this season.
THE MATCHUP: Tonight's game between the Mudcats and Pelicans is the first of a three game series between the two teams. The Mudcats head into tonight's game in Myrtle Beach with a 6-5 lead in the overall season series between the two teams. The Mudcats swept the Pelicans during their last trip to Myrtle Beach (7/24-7/26) and are 4-3 against the Pelicans in Myrtle Beach this season.  
STARTING OFF: Trey Supak has the start for the Mudcats tonight in game two of Carolina's three game series against the Pelicans in Myrtle Beach. Supak enters tonight's outing at 3-3-1 with a 4.78 ERA over 12 games and nine starts this season. He has also totaled 50 strikeouts, 21 walks and nine home runs over 58.1 innings pitched. Supak began the 2017 season with Low-A Wisconsin and was 2-2 with 1.76 ERA over eight games and seven starts (41.0 IP, 21 H, 9 R, 3 ER, 10 BB, 53 SO) with the Timber Rattlers before his promotion to the Mudcats in late May. Supak went 1-2 with a 6.31 ERA over six games and four starts I June with Carolina, but was 2-1-1 with a 2.83 ERA over six games and four starts in July. He last pitched on 7/31 versus Down East and earned a victory while holding the Wood Ducks scoreless over 5.0 innings pitched. Supak also struck out four and allowed just two hits his last time out.
HARRISON POW:Monte Harrison was recently named the Carolina League's Player of the Week for the week ending on August 6. Harrison hit .344/.364/.719 with a 1.082 OPS and a league high three home runs from July 31 through August 6. He also totaled three doubles, three home runs, seven RBIs and six runs over the award winning seven game stretch… Lucas Erceg also earned Player of the Week honors on 7/31; giving the Mudcats back-to-back P.O.W. award winners. Harrison and Erceg are the only two Mudcats players to earn the weekly honor this year.
20-20 CLUB: Monte Harrison has totaled 19 home runs and 18 stolen bases between Low-A Wisconsin (11 HR, 11 SB) and High-A Carolina this season. He is currently one of 14 MiLB players with at least 15 HR and 15 SB this season. AAA Lehigh Valley's Scott Kingery, AAA Fresno's Derek Fisher and Potomac's Daniel Johnson are the only players in MiLB with at least 20 HR and 20 SB this season. Harrison (11 HR/ 11 SB) and former Mudcat Troy Stokes Jr. (11 HR, 14 SB) were both among the 15 MiLB players to finish with at least 10 home runs at 10 stolen bases before 6/22 this season. 
THIEVERY: The Mudcats have totaled a Carolina League high 141 stolen bases this season. They are also 4th in most steals in MiLB this season. Trent Clark (29 SB, 5 CS) currently leads the Mudcats in stolen bases and is 4th in the Carolina League in most steals this season. Luis Aviles Jr. (27 SB, 6 CS) and Corey Ray (21 SB, 9 CS) are 5th and 7th in the CL in SB this season.
WHERE THEY RANK: Lucas Erceg is currently 2nd in the Carolina League in RBIs (66). Erceg is also tied for 6th in XBH (39), tied for 6th in doubles (25) and is tied for 6th in home runs (13)… Trent Clark leads the CL in walks (80) and outfield assists (13). Clark is also tied for 2nd in the CL in games (111), tied for 4th in runs (63) and 4th in stolen bases (29)… Isan Díaz is currently tied for 7th in the CL in home runs (12) and is 8th in the CL in RBIs (52)… Corey Ray is tied for 6th in the CL in doubles (24) and 7th in stolen bases (21).
NUMBER ONE: Monte Harrison has reached SportsCenter's Top 10 countdown twice this season, with both plays landing at the number one overall spot in their respective countdowns on 7/31 and 8/10. The first play was a diving catch in left-center against the Wood Ducks at Five County Stadium on 7/31. The second occurred on 8/10 and was a diving catch in right against Lynchburg at Five County. Harrison also began Carolina's 9-2-6-2 triple play, which was featured as SportsCenter's "Golden Moment" on 8/9. The Mudcats have been featured on SportsCenter seven times overall this season (military homecoming surprise on 4/26, Lucas Erceg's hidden-ball trick on 5/3, Trent Clark foul ball lands in fan's cup on 5/5, Weston Wilson proposal on 5/6) and have reached the No. 1 slot of the SC top 10 twice.
FOR THREE: The Mudcats turned a 9-2-6-2 triple play in game one of a doubleheader on 8/9 versus the visiting Hillcats. The unconventional triple play was the fifth triple play in Mudcats' team history, the first in the club's Carolina League era and the first triple play of the year in the Carolina League… The Mudcats also turned triple plays on 6/21/95 vs. Greenville (3-5-6-9), 5/5/96 vs. Memphis (5-4-3, 10th inn.), 8/19/08 vs. Mississippi (6-3) and on 7/31/09 vs. Chattanooga (3-2-5).
