WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 6, 2018) - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans were handed their sixth straight loss on Monday night by the Winston-Salem Dash in a 6-3 defeat from BB&T Ballpark. The Dash (67-45, 26-16) broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth inning against Pelicans (50-64, 16-28) starter Alex Lange

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 6, 2018) - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans were handed their sixth straight loss on Monday night by the Winston-Salem Dash in a 6-3 defeat from BB&T Ballpark. 
The Dash (67-45, 26-16) broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth inning against Pelicans (50-64, 16-28) starter Alex Lange (6-8). Luis González worked a walk to begin the frame and Laz Rivera singled to put two on. After Nick Madrigal plated Gonzalez with an RBI ground out, Yermin Mercedes ripped an RBI triple to center. Zach Remillard knocked in Mercedes with a sacrifice fly to make it 3-0.

The Pelicans answered back in the top of the fifth inning when Zach Davis came across home on an RBI ground out by Wladimir Galindo , cutting into the Dash advantage at 3-1. 
Winston-Salem added on in the bottom of the seventh inning with three more runs. Gonzalez ripped an RBI double, Madrigal tallied a sacrifice fly and Mercedes drove in a run on a single, giving the Dash a 6-1 lead.
In the eighth, Myrtle Beach plated two runs on a D.J. Wilson RBI single and a wild pitch that brought Luis Ayala home to make it 6-3. 
Luis Martinez (7-6) earned the win for the Dash, throwing seven innings and only allowing one run, while Tyler Johnson threw a scoreless ninth to take home his second save on the season. 
The Pelicans continue a three-game series with the Winston-Salem Dash at 7 p.m. on Tuesday from BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem. The Birds send RHP Tyson Miller (8-7, 3.77 ERA) to the mound against Winston-Salem LHP Kyle Kubot (5-1, 2.27 ERA).
