Duffy, Royals Caravan to Roll through NWA

SPRINGDALE, AR - Former Natural Danny Duffy (2010), Royals Hall of Famer Jeff Montgomery, Left-hander Donnie Joseph, and broadcaster Rex Hudler are scheduled to appear on the Royals 2014 Winter Caravan stop at the Academy Sports + Outdoors Fayetteville location from 11 a.m. to Noon on Thursday January 30, 2014. The participants are scheduled to meet and great with fans and autographs opportunities are available on a first-come-first served basis.

In five starts for the Royals last season, Duffy was 2-0 with a 1.85 ERA. The left-hander was a major contributor to Naturals the 2010 Texas League Championship team. He made two post-season starts and earned the win in the opening game of the Texas League Championship Series against the Midland RockHounds. The 25-year-old from Southern California went 5-2 with a 2.95 ERA in seven regular season starts with the Naturals in 2010. Duffy made four starts for Northwest Arkansas last season while on the comeback trail from undergoing Tommy John Surgery in 2012.

A three-time All-Star, Royals Hall of Famer Jeff Montgomery racked up 304 saves across 12 seasons in Kansas City. In 1993, the right-hander went 7-5 with a 2.27 ERA and collected a league-leasing 45 saves on his way to earning the American League's Rolaid's Relief Award awarded to the league's best reliever. Currently the franchise's all-time saves leader, he was inducted into the Royals Hall of Fame in 1993.

After posting a 3.95 ERA in Class-AAA last season, left-hander Donnie Joseph appeared in six games for the Royals in 2013 and did not allow a run. The 25-year-old from just outside Austin, Texas is slated to join the Royals in Big League Camp next month in Surprise.

Current Royals Broadcaster Rex Hudler spent parts of 13 seasons in the Major Leagues with six different teams and continued on to become an award-winning analyst. Nicknamed "The Wonder Dog", Hudler will begin his third season on the Royals broadcast team for Fox Sports Kansas City.   

Season of Naturals Baseball begins Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Frisco, TX. The team opens at Arvest Ballpark on Thursday April 10, 2014 against the same Frisco RoughRiders.
