Rey Navarro Promoted to Triple-A Omaha

Yowill Espinal joins Naturals

SPRINGDALE, AR - The Naturals' parent club, the KansasCity Royals announced a pair transactions on Saturday affecting the NorthwestArkansas Naturals' roster. Infielder Rey Navarro has been transferred to Triple-A Omaha and infielder Yowill Espinal has been transferred to Northwest Arkansas from Class-A Kane County.

Navarro appeared in 109 games this year for the Naturals and hit .250 with three home runs and 39 RBI. The infielder also swiped nine bases and appeared in games at at second base, shortstop, and third base. He was acquired from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for reliever Carlos Rosa in 2010.

Espinal hit .281 this season in 21 games for the Kane County Cougars and knocked in four runs. He was originally signed by the Royals as a non-drafted free agent in 2007.

The Royals also announced the following transactions on Friday. Tim Melville was activated from the seven-day disabled list and transferred to Class-A Kane County. Left-hander Buddy Baumann was placed on the seven-day disabled list and catcher Ryan Jenkins has been activated from the seven-day disabled list.

Espinal will wear number 13 for the Naturals. Following the transactions, the Naturals' roster is at theTexas League limit of 25 active players.
