BINGHAMTON, NY - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) and Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets) split a doubleheader Tuesday at NYSEG Stadium. The 'Ponies took game one 2-0 before the 'Cats clawed back for a 3-1 triumph in the second tilt.

GAME ONE - Binghamton 2, New Hampshire 0
A first inning score was all the Rumble Ponies needed to beat the 'Cats in the first game. Jason Krizan doubled and later scored on a two-out single from Barrett Barnes to make it 1-0 Mets affiliate.
Will Toffey's fifth inning home run doubled the Binghamton advantage.
Rumble Ponies starter Kevin Smith (W, 3-1) was superb in six shutout innings. He surrendered two hits, walked one and struck out five before handing the ball over to Joe Zanghi (S, 4) in the seventh.
Thomas Hatch (L, 0-3) turned in a quality start with six innings in which he allowed two runs on six hits with no walks and five strikeouts.
GAME TWO - New Hampshire 3, Binghamton 1
A three-run first was the difference in the second contest. The first three batters of the game reached via a dropped third strike, catcher's interference and an infield single before Cullen Large plated the first run with an RBI groundout. Chad Spanberger hit a double off the third base bag to score a pair and make it 3-1.
Joey Murray (W, 1-2) battled through bad weather in the middle innings to earn the first win of his Double-A career. He worked five innings and allowed one run - a two-out solo homer - on two hits with four walks and eight strikeouts. He did not allow a hit until the tenth batter he faced.
Jake Fishman (S, 3) worked the final two innings to secure a six-out save.
The series continues Wednesday night in Binghamton. RHP Yennsy Diaz goes for New Hampshire while LHP David Peterson is slated to start for Binghamton. Coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. with the Fisher Cats Pregame Show and continues with first pitch at 6:35 p.m. on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
