Hartford, CT - Top prospect Kevin Smith  hit two home runs to lead the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays Double-A affiliate) to a 4-2 win over the Hartford Yard Goats (Colorado Rockies) on Friday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park.
Smith, the No. 5 prospect in the Blue Jays system according to MLB.com, has belted 10 long balls this season, and produced New Hampshire's first multi-homer game of 2019.
Riley Adams  launched an upper-deck solo homer to start the scoring in the second inning, and after a Chad Spanberger  single, Smith belted a two-run home run to right center and put the 'Cats in front 3-0.
Hartford narrowed the lead to 3-2 with an Alan Trejo homer in the second and a run-scoring wild pitch in the third, but Smith's second blast of the night -- a solo shot in the fourth -- reestablished a 4-2 advantage.
Yennsy Diaz  (W, 8-6) held the Yard Goats to two runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts over five innings.
The Fisher Cats bullpen was even better. Justin Dillon  (H, 1) allowed a lone hit and struck out one in a scoreless sixth, Dany Jimenez  (H, 1) gave up one hit in two scoreless frames, and Danny Young  (S, 2) struck out three Yard Goats in the ninth to seal the win.
The Fisher Cats (9-13) secured their fourth straight victory, while the Yard Goats (9-12) dropped their third in a row. Smith finished 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs, and All-Star Nash Knight  went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.

The series continues in Hartford on Saturday, with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The 'Cats return home on Monday for a three-game series with the Portland Sea Dogs (Boston Red Sox) at Delta Dental Stadium.
