Portland, ME - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats closed the 2017 season with a proverbial bang Monday afternoon, launching a season-high four home runs to down the Portland Sea Dogs 11-4 at Hadlock Field.
A run in the first started the scoring for the 'Cats. Derrick Loveless doubled and later scored on an RBI single from Harold Ramirez to put New Hampshire up 1-0.
Portland scored three runs between the second and the third to take a 3-1 advantage. Sean Reid-Foley (W, 10-11) gave up a solo home run to Michael Chavis in the second and a two-run blast to Cole Sturgeon in the third.
From there it was virtually all Fisher Cats. They took the lead with three runs in the fourth inning - highlighted by RBI singles from Gunnar Heidt and Matt Dean - and Reid-Foley kept Sea Dogs hitters guessing by amassing nine strikeouts over five innings of work.

Two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh put the game away. Dean delivered a two-out, two-run dinger in the sixth and stepped up again in the eighth after Heidt had gone deep with a man on. The Dallas, Texas native launched his second home run of the game to complete the four-spot in the frame. It was the first time two Fisher Cats had hit consecutive home runs since Reese McGuire and Jonathan Davis did so on April 14 in Hartford.
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit his fourth homer of the year in the ninth to make it 11-4 and Daniel Young retired the side in order in the home half to secure the 59th and final win of the season for the 'Cats.
Conner Greene pitched two innings of relief after Reid-Foley's departure and allowed one run on two hits. Dusty Isaacs followed with a scoreless frame in which he struck out two batters.
Five Fisher Cats had multi-hit performances and two - Matt Dean and Harold Ramirez - had three hits in the game. Dean led the way with four RBI and two runs scored. Four Fisher Cats home runs is the most in any game for New Hampshire this season.
The 2018 season begins on Thursday, April 5 in Hartford and the home schedule starts on Friday, April 13 at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. To stay up to date with the Fisher Cats throughout the offseason, log on to nhfishercats.com.
