BINGHAMTON, NY - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) won a rain-shortened 1-0 contest over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets) Thursday night at NYSEG Stadium.

The Fisher Cats scored the lone run of the game in the top of the first. Cullen Large led off the inning with a triple to left field and scored on a Josh Palacios sacrifice fly to right.
'Cats starter Nate Pearson (W, 1-4) battled through adversity to put up 5.2 scoreless innings in his NYSEG Stadium debut. The #2 Blue Jays prospect (MLB.com) dealt with runners on base in every inning but managed to keep the 'Ponies off the scoreboard while striking out six. He earned the first win of his Double-A career and his first since April 25 when he was a member of Advanced-A Dunedin.
Vinny Nittoli retired the lone batter he faced in the sixth and stranded the tying run at third in the seventh as the rain began to fall before play was stopped prior to the start of the top of the eighth.
Tommy Wilson (L, 4-5) was excellent for Binghamton. After the first inning triple, he allowed only two more runners - a lead-off walk for Josh Palacios in the fourth and a base hit from Christian Williams in the fifth - in his seven innings of work. The right-hander struck out seven.
