Before the calendar flips to 2019, we celebrate the holidays by looking back at 12 moments from the New Orleans Baby Cakes' 2018 season.

May 26

Isaac Galloway's promising 2017 season was cut short by a knee injury, but the longtime Marlins farmhand returned to the Baby Cakes in 2018 and cemented his spot in the record books.
Batting leadoff on May 26 at Principal Park in Des Moines, Galloway utilized his speed to open the game with an infield single. The Iowa Cubs battery of Alec Mills and Ali Solis, well aware of Galloway's prowess on the basepaths, used a pitch out on the first offering to Magneuris Sierra but Galloway was successful in diving back into the bag at first ahead of Solis' pickoff attempt.
Undeterred following Sierra's fly out, Galloway broke for second on the first pitch to Tomas Telis and slid headfirst ahead of the throw from Solis, securing the 62nd stolen base of his New Orleans career to establish the new franchise record. Colin Porter had swiped 61 bases from 2001-03.

Galloway would add eight more stolen bases to his total, giving him 20 steals to rank fifth in the Pacific Coast League through the end of July. He was unable to further extend the record, as he earned the first big league call-up of his 11-year career on July 31. Fittingly, Galloway legged out an infield single in his first at-bat that night in Atlanta, and later picked up both his first career stolen base and home run to spearhead the Marlins' 12-1 win at Washington on August 19.
