The Akron RubberDucks offense exploded for the second night in-a-row to take game two of the series 11-2 over the Harrisburg Senators. The RubberDucks plated eight in the first three innings. The Sens added their two runs in the bottom of the ninth.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Tim Cate started the game and allowed eight runs—seven earned—in three innings.

Diego Moreno had three strong innings of relief. He struck out four, walked none and allowed only two hits.

Jhon Romero worked two shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out four.

Matt Cronin allowed three runs—only one earned—and recorded one out.

WITH THE GAVEL

K.J. Harrison had the lone RBI for the Senators with a bases loaded fielder’s choice in the bottom of the ninth.

Jake Alu had the first Senators hit of the night to extend his hit streak to eight games.

Cole Freeman had a base hit.

Ramón Flores added a hit in his lone at bat of the game.

FILIBUSTERS

The Senators have scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth in back-to-back games. Tonight’s late offense helped Harrisburg avoid its 13th shutout of the season. Osvaldo Duarte pitched in the ninth inning, becoming the first position player to pitch for the Senators since 2014.
