Lowell, MA - Game three of three in Lowell brought a few more errors but hits and runs were at a premium most of the game. Lowell prevailed with two runs in the 8th to take the win 6-4.
PROMISING FIRST: Gray Fenter struck out the only three batters he saw in the first inning. His curveball was as good as advertised throughout the outing.
RUNS IN THE SECOND: Inning number two started with Cody Roberts' third hit in three professional games. Robbie Thorburn reached on a fielder's choice and came home on an RBI single by Luke Ringhofer. Lowell would answer in the bottom of the inning with an RBI double from Tyler Dearden.
SPINNERS PULL AWAY: In the third Cole Cottam had an RBI single to put lowell up one. Hits piled up in the 5th when back to back RBIs from Johnathan Ortega and Jarren Duran made it 4-1. That score would hold until the 8th inning.
WALK IT OUT: Aberdeen would not have a hit in the 8th inning but tied the game. Four batters reached base on walks and J.C. Escarra was hit by a pitch. An RBI fielder's choice from Willy Yahn tied things up at four.
BACK THREE BACK: Two tripples in a row from Jarren Duran and Cole Brannen set the Spinners up for victory. Brannen scored on a sacrafice fly and made it 6-4 for the top of the 9th. Guiyan Xu had a double in that frame, but the 'Birds went down scoreless.
BIRD WATCHIN': Robbie Thorburn's six game hit streak came to an end. Aberdeen is now below .500 for the first itme in over a week.
