Fiorentino hits for cycle in 7-2 Keys win

Single, HR, double, then triple completed by seventh inning
May 2, 2005
A triple is typically the most elusive element in hitting for the cycle. It's even tougher to come up with when it's the only missing piece late in the game -- and the entire stadium is aware of what's at stake.

Jeffrey Fiorentino accomplished the feat Monday night in the Frederick Keys' 7-2 win over the Winston-Salem Warthogs. In the seventh inning, his fourth hit off Ryan Rodriguez placed his name in some rare company, and bumped his average up to .350 in the process.

The Keys' leadoff hitter was among the Carolina League leaders in triples already, but his third of the season had the 1,041 fans in Frederick rocking.

Fiorentino was a spark for the Keys the entire night, leading off the game with a single and scoring Frederick's first run. In the third inning, Fiorentino clocked his third homer of the season. He had three-quarters of the cycle completed by the end of the fourth with a run-scoring double in that frame.

Richard Stahl (4-1) tossed seven innings of two-run ball for the victory.
