Beloit, Wisc.-Sean Buckley's three-run home run highlighted a seven-run second inning for the Dayton Dragons as they defeated the Beloit Snappers 7-3 on Saturday. The win improved the Dragons overall record to 12-11. They are 2-2 on the current six-game road trip.

With the game scoreless in the second, Juan Silva singled to ignite the rally. Steve Selsky singled to move Silva to second, and Buckley followed with a home run to left field, his second homer of the year, to make it 3-0. Junior Arias then re-started the rally with a base hit and advanced to third on a single by Yovan Gonzalez. Jefry Sierra reached on an error to load the bases, and Brandon Dailey walked to force in a run and give Dayton a 4-0 lead. Ryan Wright followed with a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in Gonzalez, and Juan Silva singled up the middle to drive in Sierra and Dailey and make it 7-0.

Beloit answered with a three-run bottom of the second to pull to within four at 7-3, but they could not score again as the Dragons held on for the win. All 10 runs in the game came in the same inning.

Dragons starting pitcher Daniel Tuttle (1-0) earned the win, going five and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and three unearned runs with one walk and five strikeouts. Carlos Contreras followed Tuttle with two and one-third innings of one-hit, shutout baseball. Brooks Pinckard worked a perfect ninth inning to close it out.

The Dragons finished with 11 hits. Silva was 3 for 4 with two runs batted in. Sierra, Selsky, and Arias each had two hits.

The Dragons will play at Beloit again Sunday at 3:00 p.m. (EDT) and Monday at noon. On Sunday, Tanner Robles (2-0, 2.66) will start for Dayton against Beloit's Tim Shibuya (1-1, 2.55). The next home game is Wednesday, May 2 against the Lake County Captains.
