Dayton, Ohio-Bowling Green's Jeff Malm drilled a tie-breaking two-run home run in the eighth inning to lift the Hot Rods to a 3-2 victory over the Dayton Dragons and a sweep of the three-game series on Sunday. The Dragons dropped to 0-3 in the second half before a crowd of 8,323 at Fifth Third Field.

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Drew Stubbs played the entire game for the Dragons, going 1 for 4 with a walk and an RBI on a major league injury rehabilitation assignment.

The Dragons took the lead in the bottom of the third inning when Juan Silva walked, went to third on a single to right by Yovan Gonzalez, and scored on Drew Stubbs' infield single to shortstop to make it 1-0.

Bowling Green tied the game on a solo home run by Alejandro Segovia in the fifth inning. It was his sixth homer of the year.

In the top of the eighth, Dragons reliever Mike Dennhardt (1-3) retired the first two batters before Todd Glaesmann singled to left field. Malm, who had homered off Dennhardt on Saturday, blasted one over the right field fence, his eighth homer of the year, to give Bowling Green a 3-1 lead.

The Dragons scored in the bottom of the eighth when James Ewing doubled, advanced to third on Yorman Rodriguez's fly out, and scored on Ryan Wright's ground out to shortstop to make it 3-2. Kyle Waldrop then singled to put the tying run on base, but Sean Buckley struck out looking to end the inning.

In the bottom of the ninth, Stubbs walked with two outs and the bases empty, but Junior Arias struck out swinging to end the game.

Dragons starting pitcher Radhames Quezada worked the first five innings and was not involved in the decision. He allowed six hits and one run, on a solo homer, while walking two and striking out five. Cole Green replaced Quezada and tossed two scoreless innings, allowing a hit and a walk with two strikeouts. Dennhardt came on to start the eighth and worked two innings, allowing two hits and two runs.

The Dragons finished with nine hits. Waldrop and Gonzalez each had two. Arias was 1 for 5 to extend his hitting streak to eight straight games. Silva was 0 for 3 to snap his nine-game hitting streak.

The Dragons host the Lake County Captains on Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the start of a three-game series. Tanner Robles (4-4, 4.50) will start for Dayton against Lake County's Cody Anderson (4-4, 3.12). The series continues Tuesday and Wednesday with both games at 7:00 p.m.
