January 14, 2013
Two Minor League catchers have been suspended 50 games without pay after testing positive for methylhexaneamine, a banned performance-enhancing substance, the Office of the Commissioner announced Monday afternoon.

Bryan Henry was a 36th-round pick by the Diamondbacks in the 2011 Draft. His suspension will be effective immediately upon his signing with a Major League organization.

Currently a free agent, the 23-year-old Henry hit .237 with one homer and 13 RBIs in 31 games for Class A South Bend and Class A Advanced Visalia last year.

David Wendt, a backstop on the roster of Tampa Bay's Double-A Montgomery affiliate, batted .223 over 42 games with the Biscuits and Class A Advanced Charlotte and in 2012. A 50th-round selection by the Rays in 2009, he turned 26 earlier this month. His suspension will begin at the start of the 2013 season.
