Pelicans Announce Travolta Night

Fans will get Travoltified on April 17 in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (MARCH 4, 2014) - In honor of John Travolta's mumbled introduction of "Adele Dazeem" on Sunday at the Oscars, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans are electrified to announce that Thursday, April 17 will be Travolta Tribute Night at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark when the Pelicans host the Potomac Nationals. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character from a John Travolta film and enjoy an evening of entertainment interwoven with the most inadvertently hilarious speeches and quotable gaffes in history.

After hearing the news, the Pelicans mascot, Splash, and Senior Director of Community Development Jen Borowski began singing their own version of "You're the One that I Want" from the movie Grease.

The new promotional night joins a variety of theme nights on the Pelicans' already packed promotional calendar: "I've been a fan of John Travolta since the Sweathog Days", said Pelicans General Manager Andy Milovich. "I can't wait to celebrate his career!"

Although the fanfare and build up around Travolta Tribute Night is sure to be immense, Milovich went on to assure that it would not stop the Pelicans from continuing their pursuit of Super Bowl winning quarterback, and Texas Rangers second baseman, Russell Wilson, who spent Monday in the Rangers camp at Spring Training in Surprise, Arizona.

The Pelicans begin their season on April 3rd when the Salem Red Sox visit TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.
