Crain Boldly Issues Opening-Day Guarantee

Team President/GM Promises 60 Degrees on April 10
March 11, 2014

Moosic, Pa. - In tough times, we look to our leaders. On a frigid winter morning with snow cascading down upon PNC Field, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders president/GM Rob Crain gave the gift of a guarantee that spring will have sprung in time to play ball.

Clad in floral orange shorts, inexplicable snorkel gear and a life preserver designed for a little girl while wearing a face of both fun and fierce determination, the RailRiders' venerable top executive issued assurance that families and baseball enthusiasts will be comfortable when the gates open on April 10.

"I am sick of winter," said Crain. "I'm done. I'm through. I'm ready for summer. I've got my flippers, my jacket, my goggles, I am ready for the fun of summer and I am ready for RailRiders baseball. And I am also guaranteeing it, repeat, guaranteeing, that it will be 60 degrees here on Opening Day and all this snow will be gone and we will have a blast. If it is not 60 degrees, everyone who comes to Opening Day is getting a free ticket, a free ticket to any game the entire 2014 season."

But he did not stop there. Like most extremists, Crain took it to another level when he also promised triumph. If the RailRiders fail to defeat their nearby rivals from Syracuse? "I will dress up like a woman until we win," said Crain.
