Fendrick Named PCL Executive of the Year

Former Express President Receives League's Top Honor

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Former Round Rock Express President Dave Fendrick was named the Pacific Coast League 2014 Executive of the Year. Under Fendrick's leadership, the Express celebrated a successful 15th season that included a franchise-record 4th of July crowd (12,951) and the inaugural induction into the Express Hall of Fame with former manager Jackie Moore.   

"It's a true honor to receive this award after celebrating the Express' 15th season," Fendrick said. "It was a very special season in the franchise's history and for that I credit our ownership group, Ryan Sanders Baseball, and the amazing staff that makes Dell Diamond such a world-class place."

To celebrate the team's 15th season, Fendrick assisted with the design and implementation of a commemorative logo. He also created the blueprint for the Express' annual Alumni/Hall of Fame Weekend in which the organization welcomed back 12 former players and coaches to be honored.

"Dave embodies the spirit of baseball and it's great to see him recognized on this level for his dedication not only to the Express but to the game itself," Express CEO Reese Ryan said. "He has been an essential part of the success the Round Rock Express has achieved over these past 15 years. In every position he has served, he has been an anchor and great mentor to our staff."

The 39-year veteran of professional baseball began his career as general manager of the Gastonia Rangers in 1974. He has been with the Express since day one, serving as assistant general manager. He was promoted to vice president and general manager in 2005 before receiving the title of team president following the 2010 season.

Fendrick was named Western Carolinas and Southern League Executive of the Year in 1975 and 1977 respectively. He is the second Express executive to receive the award in the PCL. Current President Jay Miller was named Executive of the Year in 2010. Fendrick will be honored at Major League Baseball's Winter Meetings in San Diego, CA in December.
