April 27, 2016

DURHAM, N.C.- The Louisville Bats won their fourth straight road game, beating the Durham Bulls, 6-2. This is the Bats first four game win streak since July 30 - August 2, 2015. Left-hander John Lamb (1-2,9.22) made his third rehab start on Wednesday night, pitching eight innings, which equals the longest outing by a Bats' starter this season.

Lamb pitched eight innings allowing eight hits, two runs (one home run), one walk, and striking out five.

The Bats got on board right away. Center fielder Hernan Iribarren scored on a wild pitch, giving the Bats a 1-0 lead.

Louisville held a 1-0 lead until the fourth inning when Durham's designated hitter Kyle Roller hit a solo home run to tie the game at one.

The Bats regained the lead in the sixth inning. An RBI single by catcher Ramon Cabrera scored left fielder Jesse Winker, giving Louisville a 2-1 lead. Two batters later, right fielder Kyle Waldrop gets a two run double which increased the Bats lead to 4-1. They added one more run before the inning was over, and led 5-1.

Durham tried to start a rally in the bottom of the sixth a lead off double by SS Taylor Motter. He scored two batters later making it 5-2. A ground ball double got the Bats out of the inning and avoided farther damage.

First baseman Brandon Allen hit a lead off double and then scored on a wild pitch in the top of the eighth inning, making it 6-2 in favor of Louisville.

The Bats look to win their second straight series tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. RHP Josh Smith (2-1,0.50) will go for Louisville, while Durham will counter with Right-hander Matt Andriese (1-2, 4.03).
