This season, Michael Chavis put his power on display. And while his Arizona Fall League campaign hasn't been quite as thunderous as the regular season, he showed Tuesday that it's definitely still there.
Boston's second-ranked prospect slugged two homers -- including an inside-the-parker -- and plated three runs but Peoria fell to Salt River, 11-4, at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

After tallying two jacks in his first 20 AFL games, Chavis stepped up in the fifth inning with one on and two out. MLB.com's No. 92 overall prospect belted a fly ball to right-center field. Right fielder Yonathan Daza (Rockies) and center fielder Victor Reyes (D-backs) collided while trying to make the play and Chavis raced home for an unconventional two-run homer. Both outfielders, who were both able to walk off the field on their own, exited the game.

Chavis drilled the first pitch of the eighth to left for his second long ball of the game. He collected three multi-homer games while posting 31 jacks across Class A Salem and Double-A Portland.
"During BP every day I didn't go out there just trying to hit as many home runs as possible or show off my power," he told MiLB.com last month. "It sounds stupid because you think it would be common sense, but I treated BP as preparation for the game. In my swings and in every round, I had a plan and I had a goal."
Brewers No. 14 prospectMonte Harrison knocked a three-run homer, ninth-ranked Orioles prospect Anthony Santander tripled, doubled and drove in three, and Rockies No. 14 prospectBrian Mundell went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two walks for Salt River.
