Big Inning Boosts Dust Devils

The Tri-City Dust Devils (16-13) opened the home series against the Boise Hawks (9-20, 24-43) with an 8-2 win on Friday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils broke the game open with a five-run bottom of the fourth inning.  Tri-City once again received a strong performance from the pitching

The Tri-City Dust Devils (16-13) opened the home series against the Boise Hawks (9-20, 24-43) with an 8-2 win on Friday night at Gesa Stadium. The Dust Devils broke the game open with a five-run bottom of the fourth inning.  
Tri-City once again received a strong performance from the pitching staff. Starter Nick Thwaits earned the win after allowing only one run in five innings of work. At the plate Nick Gatewood finished the night with a team-high three hits and two RBIs. In addition to Gatewood's multi-hit performance, Jack Stronach also had a pair of singles in the victory.
Right-hander Ignacio Feliz will toe the rubber for the Dust Devils in the second game of the four-game series on Saturday night. Boise will counter with left-hander Zak Baayoun. There will be a postgame fireworks show Saturday at Gesa Stadium presented by First Step Community Counseling Services.
