PENSACOLA, Flo. – The Montgomery Biscuits (31-36/3-2) split their double-header against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (37-32/2-3) Saturday afternoon as they were blanked in their first matchup 2-0, but bounced back in their second to win 5-4.

The Blue Wahoos struck first in the third after Troy Johnston hit an RBI-single with two outs to bring Victor Victor Mesa home to go up 1-0. Moments later, J.D. Osburne connected on an RBI-double again with two outs for his 42nd RBI of the year.

Through four innings Pensacola starter Jeff Lindgren had the Biscuits number retiring five with him on the mound. Doxakis allowed two runs on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts before the Las Vegas native, Zack Trageton came in to relieve his duties.

Although the Biscuits only obtained four hits, Brett Wisely became the first Biscuit of the season to reach a double-digit hitting streak with 10. Wisely has gotten a base hit in 12 of his last 13 games.

Pensacola held on to their slim lead and escaped game one unscathed to move in confidence ahead of game two.

However, in game two, it was the Biscuits who started with the momentum as Kameron Misner smashed a two-run home run to left to put the Biscuits up early 2-0. Pensacola responded quickly as they put four on the board to overtake the Biscuits and grab the lead thanks to a pair of RBI-singles from Troy Johnston and Paul McIntosh that brought in three. A sac fly by Norel Gonzalez added the last run and brought things at ease for the home crowd in Pensacola as they were ahead 4-2.

From there, the Biscuits got ahead again with a line drive RBI-single from Roberto Alvarez. A throwing error by Blue Wahoos outfielder Thomas Jones allowed Alvarez to advance to second. Later in the inning, Jackson McGowan connected on another RBI-single that scored two and gave the Biscuits the lead 5-4. Biscuits reliever, Justin Sterner cleaned things up as no further runs scored for both teams for the remaining four innings. The Biscuits stole six bases and racked in nine base hits in game two, which heavily contributed to their win. Chris Gau received the win and moved to 3-0 on the year.

Montgomery looks to close the series out and stay ahead of the South division in the series finale Sunday at 6:05 PM CT when Jayden Murray (4-2, 2.93) duels Cody Mincey (3-3, 5.30).
