Curve blank Fisher Cats to open road trip

CURVE, Pa. - Dario Agrazal led a shutout effort while home runs from Logan Hill and Will Craig supported a 5-0 win for the Altoona Curve over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Tuesday at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
The Curve (64-53) handed the Fisher Cats (67-49) just their second scoreless game this season despite 11 base hits.

Leading 1-0 in the seventh, Hill unloaded a three-run homer to left set up by a Will Craig double and a walk to Jin-De Jhang to begin the frame.

Agrazal (Win, 4-3) maneuvered around seven hits by the Fisher Cats and logged six scoreless innings to earn his first win since May 13. He employed a double play in the first inning and a pick off in the fifth while stranding runners in scoring position in the second, third and fifth frames.
Alfredo Reyes started the sixth inning with a single and used his speed to score the first run of the game. Reyes swiped second base with Cole Tucker batting and advanced to third and home to score after a pair of errors by the Fisher Cats' defense.
Craig added to the Curve total with a towering solo homer to right field during the eighth inning, his 19th of the season. Craig recorded three hits in the game, his 27th multi-hit game, and hit his 25th double.

Geoff Hartlieb took over in the seventh and also wiggled around runners in scoring position during both the seventh and eighth. In the ninth, Tate Scioneaux worked around a two-out base hit to record the final three outs. All three Curve pitchers had one situation with a runner at third base but held the potent New Hampshire offense off the scoreboard.

Three of the Curve's first five hits were lead-off singles in the second, fourth and fifth but were unable to break through against Jordan Romano (Loss, 10-7). Romano used two double plays and a caught stealing to face three batters over the minimum before he failed to record an out in the seventh.
Ke'Bryan Hayes and Bryan Reynolds each connected on back-to-back singles in the fourth inning to extend lengthy hitting streaks. Hayes' hit pushed his streak to 15 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the Eastern League, while Reynolds has hit safely in nine straight games.

The Curve and Fisher Cats will continue their series on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. with right-hander James Marvel (0-1, 2.70) making the start for Altoona opposite right-hander Hector Perez (0-1, 4.00) for New Hampshire.
