Early Runs Push Lowell Past Tigers

Lowell, MA - Nick Quintana went 1-for-3 with three RBI, but the Connecticut Tigers (30-32) fell 7-3 to the Lowell Spinners (34-29). Quintana hit his first career New York-Penn League home run in the contest.
The Spinners got on the board in the second inning with four runs on six hits off of Xavier Javier (Loss, 3-3).  Luke Bandy drove in the first run of the inning with an RBI single. Antoni Flores added to the lead with an RBI single to make it 2-0.
Cameron Cannon pushed across the final runs of the inning with a two-RBI double. Cannon finished 3-for-5 with three RBI in the game for Lowell.
Maddux Conger came in relief of Javier giving up no runs in 2.2 innings of work with three strikeouts. Austin Anderson also added two scoreless frames in the contest. Anderson allowed one hit with three strikeouts and no walks. The Tigers got their only runs of the contest on a three-run home run by Quintana in the sixth inning to make it 7-3.
Aldo Ramirez (Win, 2-2) pitched five innings with two hits, two walks and four strikeouts. Miguel Suero (Hold, 3) pitched three innings in relief with one hit, two walks and a strikeout.
Kris Jackson finished the game for the Spinners working one inning with no runs on two hits with two strikeouts. Avery Tuck was the only Tiger with multiple hits in the game. Tuck finished the contest 2-for-4.
