Execution of 360 Deck Project Begins

SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds have started phase one of an extensive project at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium that will result in a 360 degree concourse.
The first step during this process has started with the excavation of the deteriorating concrete slab on the second level, which the carousel once called home. Those who have attended Shorebirds games at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium during the 2018 season may have noticed that the carousel is no longer on the second level concourse down the third base line. The carousel, which has provided many memories to Shorebirds fans throughout the years, has been donated to the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department for their annual carnival. The concrete slab will be replaced along with the left and right field berms will be regraded. Walkways will be added and constructed out towards each foul pole.
The 360 deck project will continue, as phase two will start after the conclusion of the 2018 Shorebirds season. This is when the construction of a wooden deck will begin, making it so that fans can walk all the way around the playing field. The 360 degree deck will provide modern amenities including drink rails and vantage points that Shorebirds fans haven't been able to enjoy before. Fans will be able to potentially catch a home run ball, watch pitchers warming up in the bullpen or just take a stroll during the game.

"The Shorebirds are grateful for the partnerships with Wicomico County and the state of Maryland for making this 360 degree deck and other stadium renovation projects possible to make the ballpark an even more sustainable facility for years to come."
The Shorebirds are 26-17 so far this season and are competing for a South Atlantic League Playoff spot in the first half of the season. The team returns to Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on Friday, May 25th for a five game series with the Lakewood BlueClaws (affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies) that runs through Monday, May 28th.
