Wichita improved their lead in the top of the fourth inning. After retiring the first batter of the inning, Andrew Bechtold hit a home run to left field. His 14th long ball of the season made it a 2-0 Wind Surge lead.

The Flying Chanclas completed the comeback and tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. Wyatt Ulrich reached base on a one-out infield single. Denny Bentley replaced Gore on the mound following the base hit. Ornelas hit a ground-rule double to put both runners in scoring position. A passed ball from catcher Kyle Schmidt allowed Ulrich to score. A wild pitch from Bentley allowed Ornelas to score the game-tying run.

In the top of the 10th inning, Angel Felipe remained in the game after pitching the ninth inning. Leobaldo Cabrera was the placed runner at second base. He advanced to third base on a ground out from Ernie Yake. Anthony Prato regained the lead for Wichita after hitting a single to left field. Wichita gained a 4-3 lead.
