After trailing early, the Rockies secured their fourth win in five games on Wednesday after defeating Great Falls 5-4 at Suplizio Field.
Grand Junction opened the scoring in the third as Yolki Pena and Cristopher Navarro crossed home plate on Christian Koss' first two-run single of the game.
In long relief, Miguel Ausua was tagged for three runs, two earned, as the Voyagers took a 3-2 lead with three runs over the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings including a solo home run by Luis Mieses.
The Rockies rallied in the seventh as Eddy Diaz tied the game with a run-scoring single followed by Koss' second two-run base-knock which put his team up 5-3.
Gavin Hollowell entered the game in the ninth and allowed Cameron Simmons to score on a fielder's choice to cut the Rockies' lead to one but then stranded the tying run on second after striking out Luis Curbelo to end the game and gather his fourth save of the season.
Anderson Bido earned his second win of the season after throwing a scoreless inning of relief while Karan Patel took the loss after allowing three earned runs in two innings.
GJ will host the Voyagers tomorrow for game two of the series as Anderson Amarista and Jason Morgan are set to toe the rubber.
