JetHawks vs University of Antelope Valley Pioneers
The annual contest will feature top talent from around the Antelope Valley and give fans their first look at the 2015 JetHawks
(The Hangar - Lancaster, CA) - The JetHawks will tune up for the 2015 California League season with an exhibition game against the University of Antelope Valley Pioneers on Tuesday, April 7 at The Hangar. The annual exhibition game between the two teams will be a seven-inning game and is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The exhibition game will be the first chance for fans to see new manager Omar Lopez and the 2015 JetHawks roster before the team takes the field for Opening Night on Thursday, April 9 against the San Jose Giants.
"The JetHawks vs. UAV Pioneers game is a perennial fan favorite," said Tom Backemeyer, Executive Vice President of the Lancaster JetHawks. "In addition to being a friendly competition, the game gives fans a chance to see the 2015 JetHawks in action prior to Opening Night."
The Pioneers, who also play their home games at The Hangar, are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Pioneers are led by head coach Bryan Moses who is in his 4th year as manager and has been instrumental in putting this annual exhibition game together.
"It's an honor for our players to be able to have the opportunity to not only play against, but interact with the JetHawks players coaches and front office staff," said Bryan Moses, Head Baseball Coach for the UAV Pioneers. "Our players look forward to this every year."
Tickets to the exhibition game are $5 and can be purchased in advance at the JetHawks box office located at The Hangar or by calling (661) 726-5400. All seating for the game will be general admission. Gates will open one hour before first pitch.
