P-Nats Reveal Complete 2015 Promotional Schedule

Goonies 30th Anniversary Night to Feature Corey Feldman Appearance; WWE Legend, Sgt. Slaughter to Attend Military Appreciation Event, Special Jersey Auctions Scheduled on Al Pacino Birthday & Saturday Night Live Commemoration Nights
March 5, 2015

Woodbridge, VA--The Potomac Nationals are thrilled to reveal their complete 2015 promotional schedule for the upcoming season as the club has outdone itself once again. A star-studded 2015 promo lineup includes 16 fireworks shows, countless premium giveaway items featuring five bobbleheads/figurines and multiple Mills Cup Championship commemorative pieces, numerous celebrity appearances, a host of game-used, autographed on-field jersey auctions, and a slew of theme nights and special events for the entire family.

P-Nats Baseball, the number one family-friendly entertainment option in Northern Virginia, will deliver the best promotional prowess in the history of the franchise for the Potomac Nationals' faithful at Pfitzner Stadium in 2015.

The Carolina League's defending champions will honor their fifth-ever Mills Cup Trophy by distributing replica 2014 championship rings (Opening Day on Thursday, April 9th) and a canvas photo of the Mills Cup Championship dogpile celebration (Saturday, May 30th) to P-Nats fans on separate giveaway nights.

The P-Nats' promo docket will unveil the following collectable bobblehead and figure giveaways in 2015: a Steven Souza Jr. "The Catch" figurine commemorating his no-hitter clinching web gem behind Washington Nationals RHP Jordan Zimmermann on the final day of the 2014 regular season (Saturday, June 13th), a Michael Taylor "Flattop" Major League Debut bobblehead with faux hair (Saturday, June 20th), a Wilson Ramos hybrid half-man, half-buffalo "Buff-A-rine" (Sunday, July 5th), The Goonies 30th Anniversary "One-Eyed Willie" bobblehead (Saturday, August 1st), and a Ryan Zimmerman P-Nats bobblehead (Sunday, August 16th).

In 2015, the Potomac Nationals will produce a supplemented count on all bobbleheads and figurines to meet the amplified fan demand for this exclusive P-Nats memorabilia.

In recognition of the stellar play by IF Anthony Rendon with the Washington Nationals since his debut in 2013, the former Potomac National will be memorialized with a P-Nats jersey t-shirt giveaway (Saturday, May 9th).

Furthermore, Nationals fans have a quartet of replica jersey giveaways to look forward to which will feature reproductions of the P-Nats' home white (Friday, April 24th), alternate blue (Friday, May 29th), alternate red (Friday, July 17th), and road grey jerseys (Friday, August 14th).

The number one theme night to attend in all of Minor League Baseball will take place at the Home of the Potomac Nationals in 2015. Paying tribute to one of the most popular cult film classics of all time, the P-Nats are proud to host "The Goonies 30th Anniversary Night" on Saturday, August 1st featuring a post-game showing of The Goonies (1985) on the outfield video board. The Pfitz will be blanketed by Goonies-themed activities including a Goonies Treasure Hunt, Goonies Costume Contest, and Goonies Trivia. Famous child star actor, Corey Feldman, who played the role of Clark "Mouth" Devereaux in The Goonies will be on hand to meet and greet fans while signing autographs and posing for pictures. Feldman appeared in such fan-favorite motion pictures as Gremlins (1984), Stand By Me (1986), The Lost Boys (1987), and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990). Fans in attendance will receive a one-of-a-kind "One-Eyed Willie" bobblehead upon entrance to The Pfitz. Plus, P-Nats players and coaches will wear Goonies-themed jerseys which will be signed and auctioned off on the concourse at The Pfitz. Additionally, any one-eyed fans will receive free admission to "Goonies Night."

The trademark event night of the 2015 season will be the return of the Cowboy Monkey Rodeo with Tim "Wild Thang" Lepard & Team Ghost Riders on Friday, June 19th after a terrific reception to their exceptional performance in 2014. As seen on ESPN's E:60 program, the Cowboy Monkey Rodeo is an internationally recognized live animal entertainment act that features capuchin monkeys riding sheep dogs herding livestock. Lepard and Team Ghost Riders have performed at destinations around Minor League Baseball, and also at the home of the National Football League's Denver Broncos at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Military Appreciation Night, a stamp of the Potomac Baseball franchise, will honor the armed forces community in Northern Virginia on Saturday, August 15th. WWE legend, Sgt. Slaughter will be at The Pfitz to sign autographs and take pictures with P-Nats fans while engaging the crowd throughout the evening of military family recognition. Fans will receive a Potomac Nationals camouflage t-shirt upon entering the ballpark on Military Appreciation Night.

Special game-used, on-field, autographed jersey auctions have been scheduled around Al Pacino Night on Pacino's birthday, Saturday, April 25th and Saturday Night Live Night on Saturday, May 30th. Al Pacino-related banter will be in the air while Pacino-specific activities and trivia are planned for the Pacino birthday bash, and SNL Night will bring with it a celebration of 40 years looking back at the sketch comedy and variety show touchstone. The designs for the unique, one-of-a-kind jerseys to be worn by Potomac Nationals players and coaches on these nights are yet to be released.

Make-A-Wish Mid Atlantic will once again be bringing children with life-threatening ailments out to Pfitzner Stadium for a majestic afternoon and evening of the P-Nats VIP Experience. The Make-A-Wish kids will get to meet and greet P-Nats players and coaches on the diamond, enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the Nationals' ballpark, and engage in a special tribute in the middle of the game that night. The date for Make-A-Wish Night will be finalized shortly.

After "Promo of the Month" award recognition from Minor League Baseball in 2014, "Beard-A-Palooza, The Sequel" will be a part of the Nationals' 2015 promo plans (date to be determined). This hairy hallmark of the P-Nats' fan experience last season included the Beard Olympics, opening and closing Beard-A-monies, and the crowning of the Beard Olympics Champion. The fuzzy festivities will be back and better than ever.

The P-Nats will also be hosting tentative "body improvement" nights including Hair Removal Night, Tattoo Appreciation Night, and Skin Tag Removal Night. Dates will be finalized soon.

The Potomac Nationals will be inducting a former franchise player into the Potomac Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015. The induction of the player will be announced during the 2015 season once Hall of Fame voting is complete. In 2014, LHP/OF Rick Ankiel was enshrined as the 10th member of the club's exclusive all-time Hall of Fame Class.

"Every season it gets more and more difficult to top the previous years. With that said, we feel the promotions in store for 2015 are hands above anything we have ever done and we will continue to pile on additional one-of-a-kind promos to give P-Nats fans the best possible ballpark experience all season long," said Potomac Nationals Executive Vice President/General Manager, Josh Olerud.

To be determined past and present celebrities from Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, and the National Hockey League are scheduled to make appearances at Pfitzner Stadium during the upcoming '15 slate.
