ERIE, Pa. - A late two-run homer by Stetson Allie propelled the Curve to a third-straight win with a, 4-1, downing of Erie on Saturday night at Jerry Uht Park. Allie's two-run blast in the eighth broke a, 1-1, tie game and was part of a 2-for-4 day that saw him extend his hitting streak to six games. With Saturday night's win, the Curve have now won eight of their last 11 games.

Tyler Glasnow took the bump on a frigid Saturday evening and got early run support in the second when Sebastian Valle singled home Allie, who'd reached earlier on an error, from second to put the Curve in front.

Erie tied it off the Pirates' top prospect in the fourth with a bases-loaded sac fly by Miguel Gonzalez. The 6-8 Glasnow zeroed in from there and did not allow a run in his final few innings. He finished 5.2 frames, giving up the one run on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks. He finished his day with back-to-back punchouts. With his one run allowed in 5.2 innings, Curve starters have now permitted just six earned runs in 75.2 IP through the season's first 14 starts (0.71 ERA).

The game remained tied until Allie untied it in the eighth with his rocket-shot homer off the neighboring Erie Insurance Arena. During his now six-game hit streak, Allie is hitting .435 (10-for-23) with three doubles, one home run, seven RBI and five runs scored. He's driven in a run in each of his last four games.

Altoona was given a good scare in the bottom of the inning, however, as Erie loaded up the bases with one out on an error, an infield single and a walk off Yhonathan Barrios. Barrios got the biggest outs of the game thanks to a James Robbins' 1-2-3 double play to end the inning and the scare.

Max Moroff, who also was riding a five-game hit streak into action today, extended his streak to six games when he blasted his first Double-A homer off the Arena in left to make it 4-1. Collin Balester registered the save with a clean ninth.

The Curve (9-5) can now eye a sweep in the 1:35 p.m. series finale with Erie (6-9) on Sunday afternoon. RHP Angel Sanchez (1-0, 0.56), who started his season with 13.1 scoreless innings across three starts, takes the ball in the series finale Sunday afternoon for the Curve. He'll be opposed by RHP Warwick Saupold (0-0, 8.68), who's searching for his first win of the season.

Airtime on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network is scheduled for 1:20 p.m.
