Williamsport, PA - The Williamsport Crosscutters scored 10 runs on 16 hits Saturday night as they blew out the Aberdeen IronBirds 10-2. With the win, Williamsport completed a three-game sweep of the IronBirds.


The Crosscutters took the lead in the first inning. With one man out, 1B Jeff Cusick singled. LF Micheal Dabbs doubled to right field, putting runners on second and third. DH Cameron Rupp knocked in Cusick with a ground out to third base, giving Williamsport a 1-0 lead.


The IronBirds tied the ball game up in the third. With two men down, CF Austin Knight and RF Jeremy Nowak hit back-to-back singles, putting runners on the corners. LF Kipp Schutz hit an infield single, knocking in Knight and tying the game at one.


The ball game didn't stay tied for long. In the bottom half of the third inning, Williamsport pushed across four runs on five hits. 2B Cesar Hernandez got the one-out rally going with a single. He stole second base and scored on Cusick's RBI-single. Dabbs and Rupp hit back-to-back singles, scoring another run. RF Domingo Santana knocked both of them in with a two-run double, giving the Crosscutters a 5-1 advantage.


IronBirds' starter LHP Tyler Sexton exited after the third. He allowed five runs, all earned, on seven hits.


LHP Ashur Tolliver entered the game in the fourth. After a scoreless inning, the Crosscutters touched him up in the fifth. Dabbs led off the inning with a double. A batter later, Santana knocked him in with a single. Santana later scored on an RBI-single from 3B Jake Smith, giving the Crosscutters a 7-1 lead.


Williamsport tacked on three more runs against RHP T.R. Keating on four hits in the seventh inning.


LHP Kevin Angelle (3-0) got the win. He allowed just one run on five hits in five innings of work. Sexton (0-2) took the loss.


The IronBirds return to Aberdeen on Sunday to open a three-game set with the Auburn Doubledays. First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 PM. It will be Women's Appreciation Night at the ballpark.
