Aberdeen, MD - The Jamestown Jammers scored six runs on three triples in the fifth inning on Thursday night at Ripken Stadium, as they pounded the Aberdeen IronBirds 11-1.

The Jammers took an early lead in the second inning off of IronBirds starting pitcher Justin Anderson. With two on and one out, Anderson surrendered back-to-back RBI-singles to Aury Diaz and Brent Keys to give Jamestown an early 2-0 advantage. With two men down, Dallas Hord hit a single to center, knocking in Diaz and making it a three-run game.

Jamestown tacked on a fourth run off of Anderson in the third. With two men down, Anderson walked Aaron Dudley on four pitches and hit James Wooster with a pitch. Diaz knocked in Dudley with a double, making it 4-0.

Things got out of hand in the fifth inning. The Jammers sent 10 batters to the plate and scored six runs on four hits. Anderson and Blake Mechaw combined to walk three batters in the inning. Three of the four hits they surrendered were triples. The back-breaking blow came with two men down and the bases loaded. Hord hit a three-run triple to break the game wide open.

The Jammers tacked on a run in the eighth when Aaron Dudley hit a solo homer, his first of the season.

Aberdeen scored its one run in the ninth. With Blair Dunlap on second Trent Mummey hit an RBI-double.

Rett Varner (2-1) pitched five shutout innings to get the win. Anderson (3-3) took the loss.
