Salt Lake Falls in Extras

June 24, 2015

SALT LAKE CITY (June 23) - The Salt Lake Bees dropped their 17th one-run game of the season with a 10 inning, 4-3 loss to the Las Vegas 51s at Smith's Ballpark Tuesday night. With the game locked at 3-3, Alex Castellanos delivered a two-out infield single in the top of the 10th which brought in a run on a throwing error by Kaleb Cowart. Alex Yarbrough singled in the bottom of the inning, but the Bees were unable to execute the comeback.

Bees starter Tyler DeLoach tossed five and one-third innings of three-run ball, but would not factor into the decision. Zach Thornton (4-2) took the win and Chase Bradford the save for the 51s, while Jeremy McBryde (2-4) was tagged with a tough luck loss after allowing the unearned run in the 10th for Salt Lake. The Bees offense was limited to six hits with Gary Brown accounting for one-third of the production with a double and a single. Jett Bandy assisted the home team with his seventh homer of the year.

"There's no question that we've seen a lot of one-run games that we've lost," said Salt Lake manager Dave Anderson. "It's about executing, especially late in the game. That's been a struggle for us. I thought we played really well tonight."

Salt Lake remains at home until Monday, June 28. The remainder of the homestand will feature a Bees Batting Helmet giveaway on Friday and a Bees Baseball Card giveaway on Saturday. For more information or for tickets, visit www.slbees.com
